2020 Bridal and Hat Hire photoshoot at Netherbyres House
In early March I managed to get out for a long overdue photoshoot with a bunch of the best small businesses I know, and thank goodness I did, otherwise it would have likely been delayed yet another 6 months thanks to the craziness going on in the world just now. A couple of regulars on several Stephanie Gallen Millinery shoots are photographer Laura Elizabeth Patrick and Lesley from Pamper and Polish, so they were here as ever working their magic on beautifully lit shots and spectacular hair & makeup respectively. Some new additions to this year’s mix were Nutmeg Couture Bridal in Glasgow who gave us a phenomenal wedding gown with detachable skirt and cape options to style with our new bridal collection headpieces, Rule42 Boutique who lent us some fabulous outfits for wedding guest/race day inspiration and model Jordan Griffiths, who beautifully fitted every outfit perfectly, hence avoiding a lot of alterations and pins on the day (thanks Jordan 😉)
Sarah and Mike, owners of new wedding venue on the block, Netherbyres House, allowed us into their beautiful house to shoot for the day. I first saw Netherbyres on Instagram in a post shared by a fellow wedding industry worker, and was wowed straight away. The colours are amazing and made for some fantastic photographs. The interior decor is quirky and unique featuring a brightly coloured lounge complete with flamingos and David Bowie wall, and bathrooms to rival The Ivy. You really do need to see the place. With weddings available here from July 2020, if you’re looking for a venue that’s a bit different, put this one at the top of your list. Below are a few shots of the venue to whet your appetite.
Nutmeg Couture Bridal, Glasgow, owned by designer Megan, is one of the most beautiful wedding boutiques I’ve ever been into. Within a lovely high ceilinged building on Bath Street, flooded with light, it still manages to feel intimate and make every bride feel like they’re the only one in the world. Also the only place I’ve been that made me actually think I might like to get married again! Megan was lovely enough to lend us a stunning bridal gown, detachable skirt and detachable cape which created 3 very different looks - all equally stunning.
Rule42 Boutique sells a fantastic range of casual and occasion wear including prom dresses. Michelle lent us some fabulous outfits for wedding guest looks which would also be great for a day at the races. Rule42 have you covered with boutiques in the south side of Glasgow and in Kilmarnock and you can also order online. We used their slinky black dress to air with our fuschia percher, camel/black striped button bow and midnight blue peacock feather halo headband (which we also wore with the fuschia day dress in the colourful bar at Netherbyres). There were so many great outfits we could have taken from the shop - definitely worth a look ladies!
