Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination - Met Gala 2018
Heavenly Bodies: Fashion and the Catholic Imagination
The theme for this years Met Gala, resulted in some seriously decadent and indulgent millinery. Often overlooked, headwear this year was key to respecting the theme for many, with celestial crowns, papal mitres, halos and religious hoods all perfecting outfits. Run down of faves:
Blake Lively in a jaw dropping Versacae gown - topped off with a sparkling gold spike halo
Priyanka Chopra in Ralph Lauren - channeling Joan of Arc with the most amazing jewelled hood, although fairly confident Joan had less jewels
Rihanna going for the top emulating a pope in a Maison Margiela gown and coat ....and jewelled papal mitre....of course
And....my favourite was Rita Ora in a Prada gown and gothic looking spike and floral headpiece...which, unconfirmed rumour has it, she made herself(?)
