However you feel about the Royals - a milliner can't ignore a royal wedding. When else do you get a televised event with loads of celebs turning up in hats? So while I might not be exactly a royalist - I was pretty much glued to the screen to watch all of Harry and Megans guests arriving.

Birdcage veils featured ALOT which was great as I love them. They give an air of elegant vintage to any type of hat - even cutting edge modern styles. Veil wearers of particular note - Amal Clooney in a Stephen Jones hat, Kitty Spencer in Philip Treacy and Abigal Spencer….in…I’m not sure who.

While I loved the veils - my personal favourite of the day was Janina Gavankar in genuine vintage borrowed from the Western Costume Company. The orange dress was 1930s and the hat - a black angled coolie style from the 1940s - LOVED IT!
