I am very lucky to have plenty of customers who love wearing hats. They love a wedding invite because it means that they can get a new hat, or get one of their existing ones modified to match a new outfit.

However, there are also plenty of customers who come to their appointment having warned me in advance that they are “not a hat person” and are really only wearing one because they feel they have to, I’d go so far as to say that some of them are terrified. Now, while I do love changing these particular customer’s attitudes and designing them something that they invariably love, I also get it. Even when they do end up as converts, I know that they’re not going to have loads of chances to wear that particular hat again. And while some people treasure their collection of hats and take any opportunity to wear them, it’s just not going to happen that way for everyone.

So, for those people who aren’t going to rewear a hat, where’s the sense in having one boxed away that you wore once? It’s wasteful, and not the smartest financial decision.

So, with that in mind, for 2 years now, I’ve been planning to offer a rental service. It’s been hard to set the time aside from collections and bespoke orders to actually get it done, but I got my finger out and put in a concerted effort to get everything setup to launch the service in April with a view to serving the 2020 summer weddings & races season….then covid 19 came along. So that’s all good then.

Anyway - it’s coming, hopefully whenever business returns to normal. Until then - here’s a look at some of the rental hats available.
